Time-Saver

This is my learning year, and so far I'm very happy with my Garden Mats. This is such a great way to start a bed. You don't see as much of the mat, but it's the green liner underneath the compost. This has saved me hours of (not) weeding time. I've been super pleased, too, because I still see plenty of earthworms. 

I only had one squash mat, so I followed the spacing and made mounds for my pumpkins. The spacing was perfect, and not having to weed has been awesome. I folded up my pool cover to make room for the mats, but after this growing season, I'll move them to a different part of the yard and make beds. For my second garden (see my master plan on my Waste Not Want Not Post), I might buy a mat a paycheck so I'm ready to double my growing space.
